I have 7+ years of experience in the IT industry, including 3 years in a Cloud SRE role at TCS.
The package is quite low. I haven’t learned much in my current project. When I accepted the role, I was told I would be working on DevOps tools, but in reality, my work has mostly been limited to monitoring applications, checking incidents, and closing them. I feel I haven’t even gained 5% of the skills also, I expected here.
To improve myself, I started learning independently and prepared some POCs. I have been attending interviews, but I haven’t been able to crack them yet.
Could you please suggest what I should do? Should I ask for a release and join a project with better skill development opportunities, or would it be a better option to try outside?

I think you would know what's the perfect learning plan for you, write it down and start following it without moving to some other plan and don't try to listen to every other gyaanis because they are just another content creator. You really need to lock in for the next 6 months otherwise you'll be stuck in TCS forever give interviews to learn not just to justify your low efforts.

And forget about release follow this otherwise nothing will workout

Thanks. I’m thinking that if I move internally to different projects with a development skill set, I can learn in real time while also preparing on my own and trying things out in parallel. Will that work?
