Trending @Capgemini; Capgemini Layoffs and Pathetic Work Culture

Capgemini is Laying off employees without prior Notice Period when there is cost cutting in the project or there is a scenario of Project Rampdown. They had recently laid off 500+ employee from BPO sector starting from Nov 2023. Please note these points, if you are planning to join Capgemini or want to extend in future:

  1. Capgemini was a renowned organisation for it's work culture as being a French MNC, but gradually from the end of 2022, due to change in top level management in India, the work culture has been detoriated drastically.

  2. Employees had been laid off are not for Performance Issue, they pick employee according to their favouritism and put them on bench during cost cutting and project rampdown. And without provided relevant and adequate opportunities to move to any other project, they simply layoff benched employees.

  3. Layoff is happening in a very strategical way, so that there is no such labour law complaints and also there is no broadcast news. They initiate layoff in small batches on an everyday basis. They are offering very lucrative amount like 6 months basic salary for instant resignation. And this offer is only for that moment, you cannot think and let them know later. Also they mention to keep mobile phones outside the meeting rooms as they don't want any recordings, so that these malpractices comes out to go viral.

  4. Capgemini didnot had the work culture like BPO or call center before. It was renowned for it's women centric work environment, but due to change in management, the French MNC adapted the negative sides of Corporates from abusing women employees to sexua*l harassment. Work politics and abusing has been inculcated so much that it became not fit for female employees in few projects.

The above points has been mentioned to get to know the worst part of Capgemini before you join or extend. It doesn't mean that every project is having the same kind of toxic people. Getting into a good Project in Capgemini is a good luck!

And the reasons goes on....
Many employees who are on bench feels like they are kept in jail pr something such micromanagement towards the bench employees is so disgusting i regret being a part of this company

Don't know what to do how should i proceed further

Depends on the project and the management. If they forcefully ask you to resign in that case they are supposed to give severance as per labour law. As per law it is 1 month, where as Capgemini offered 5-6 months, it may vary. They can offer as per labour law also, like 1-2 months, no one can argue, they abide by the law very well that is why no one couldn't raise their voice during the uncertain layoffs.

I was on maternity leave, and my manager gave 4 rating cuz of that. And i was being forced to resign worst experience being a women employee in capgemini

why didn't you drag the case to court? As per my knowledge, in these cases company cannot do these as per Maternity Benefit Act. I know some of my colleagues who were all into maternity leave and was getting harassed in many ways.... infact managers told when you will come back we cannot assure your last role, you can be on bench... its a threat or a kind of harassment before someone going into maternity leave. I suggested my colleague whe she will come back, if there is any such scenarios, direct sue in court. As maternity matters are the strongest point of a women where company cannot do any kind of humiliation as per law. Yes you need to have all recorded proof of harassment to proceed.

I wish...I could be a part of their layoff activity....I am asking for early release and project manager is saying that we dont have notice payout option

I could be the part of their layoff tactics. I am in the same project since I joined Caogemini and my manager asked for my release which made me to come on bench. I am not getting any interview calls since my release(Mar31st) and I need to be cautious now.

I have been moved to a new project from my last project which I delivered and worked days and nights on it, still they gave me 3rating and no hike from last 2 yrs.... Moved to a new project where there's less work now sending me worning of wfo non compliance while I was getting married...i joined the office in the first warning and completed days for that and next month still they gave me a second warning for the months i have already completed 60% attendance.....i have mailed back my manager why I am getting this mail when I have already joined office and completed days, there's no response.... In the warning mail they have mentioned to take strict action against me ...idk what's wrong here why are the doing to sch a employee who has worked on multiple projects since I joined.... might be because according to them my salary is higher than the other team mates....but my total work experience is also more whereas rest others are freshers
