“Can You Just Quickly Do This?” = Free Extra Work Incoming

When someone says, “It’s just a small task, won’t take much time”, here’s what they usually mean:

🔹 Your workload just increased without notice. 🔹 They don’t want to do it themselves. 🔹 It’s “small” until you start doing it—then it’s huge. 🔹 Saying yes once means they’ll keep asking.

🚨 Lesson: Protect your time. If it’s outside your scope, push back or negotiate priorities. Otherwise, “quick favors” will become your full-time job.
