Very difficult but not impossible. For many going onsite itself is a dream do they don’t want to jeopardize it by haggling on salary. But if you are on opppsite where your unit / client desperately wants you to be onsite you can bargain and put your foot down. By the way you always have an option to go onsite and resig and get atleast 30–40 percent hike in new org

Negotiating H1-B compensation at Infosys is tough. Salary is usually fixed by HR based on job level and location. Some have tried, but success is rare.
