Trending @Infosys; Can someone please explain the concept of market base correction?

I've heard that Acons who join at JL4 8.5LPA get "market base corrections" and their comp is revised to 10LPA. Can someone please explain what it is so that I can ask my manager about it. What do I need to ask? What's the criteria for it, why haven't I gotten it but some of the folks who joined with me have? Please help

Joined with you.. you mean same project , same account , same location , same manager. I mean it’s possible, but not sure how you can contribute more than them and not get. Appraisal is a subjective thing,

You are a program manager ??? If yes , can u advise us how to get a hike or convince my manager. Seems you cannot give a hike to all 4 in the same team , even if they all work hard. What is that extra mile that one has to take

Yes. I am a Program manager. My advice to my own team - 1. keep your priorities straight 2. You are doing a job for your livelihood 3. Nothing called work life balance. It’s only life 4. Not everyone is of the same intellect , some people are more efficient and smarter , but need to show demonstrable progress 5. If you feel you are getting paid less than others in the market; please move on 6. Company (any) fiduciary duty is towards their shareholders, so they will do anything to maximise the value . 7. Till the day you are in the project , I would expect 100%. In all of my years in the job, I have tried to retain only 1 person, I have let go of all others . Never tried to retain, for their own benefit and also for the company’s in certain cases.
Now coming to main point for getting hike

  1. Do your best towards the project and account .. take your learning’s .. 90% of the time you will be compensated. If you are not compensated, most likely you are a lateral and over paid (compared with career infoscions)
  2. Even if you are an MBA, need to understand this is a technology company, have to adapt and learn.

Market base correction adjusts salaries to match market standards. If you joined at 8.5 LPA and others got bumped to 10 LPA, ask your manager why you were overlooked. Performance and market conditions play a role.

Both are not in my favor. I got 3/5 in perf even though putting up 4.5/5 and we all know that market is already fucked up still. So should I bring it up?

On the point "hike" since last 2 years I am 100% billed , and I am not compensated at all. Yes, I am a lateral entry but that should not be the deciding factor right . Honestly, I am paid less, but there has been no market correction. I can only feel Pity towards the mindsets of these management persons. From May till July, i was working on 3 projects , and what I got ( 75%) bonus payout.
Work life balance is a joke 🤣. Everyone in the corporate sector are running a rat race and falling on loan traps . Those managers or management demanding more work ( after hours / weekends) are not right fit for the job either they fail to manage or not capable enough but just show offs
