Can someone explain to me why Zomato's search is so broken

You type something niche and it forces you to select a keyword from their database that is either irrelevant or increases friction.

For example, when you type pineapple crumble cheesecake, it'll force you to select search results for pineapple cheesecake. Or when you type popping boba tea, it'll show you boba tea.

I don't know what they are trying to achieve from this.
