My project allocation has just started, and I have not begun actual work. I received an offer that requires me to join in 30 days. Can my manager grant an early release in this case?

Yes keep telling him you will not do any work so better to release and then resign. They will say not in policy etc but you don't agree and say i need immediate release to bench then do resign
