Trending @Infosys; Can Infosys extend the notice period beyond 90 days?

I heard that my lead threatened one of my colleague who was on NP that they would extend his notice period beyond 90 days. Is this even possible legally or policy wise?

I also have the same doubt. I have 2 weeks left for my LWD. I have completed all my deliverables. And the client won't be assigning any more tasks to me. But they didn't find any replacement for me as folks are continuously failing client interviews. So I just want to know whether they extend my NP without any reason. I know there is no reason, but I still doubt my manager. He will do whatever dirty game possible to save his image.

But wouldnt this affect our careers? ..what if the new company doesn't extend our joining dates?

Ask your manager where it is mentioned in the policy + there hasn't been any recorded case of this. They can't destroy anyone's career.

Also in the portal the relieving date is clearly mentioned. So chill.

Yes possible. Mostly done when the transition is not satisfactory

What exactly could be termed as not satisfactory?

Have a transition plan documenting all topics. Keep publishing plans and progress. Document the learnings also in a document. Fool proof way of good transition.
