Can I switch company what are next steps

I am having Project management experience for 9 years now and in same company. As I don't have any idea how to switch company how to prepare and I am not having courage also if I get or not. I am underpaid and really want to grow economically , will certification works what can I do ?

I am so regret that I have not changed this company so long and in which no growth for 3+ years now

  1. Sharpen your understand on what you do daily.
  2. Look at mock interviews for your skills and prepare some interview questions.
  3. Build your confidence. I believe only 10% people or even less stay with same company for lifetime. So almost switching is common in IT. Don't think you can't do something which others are already doing.. You too can do..
  4. Prepare your mind that you will fail. I switched only once. I have same feelings like you. But took all courage for changing my financial situation Failed google and Microsoft. Cleared cognizant, capgemini and Deloitte. Switched. My life changed.
  5. please note it took 6 months for me to prepare. 3months of struggle to clear interviews then 3months notice period. In an year life changed with 200+% hike. These timelines can be different to different people. But one who does hardwork will succeed for sure.. One day..!!

Why do you want to switch... What are the reasons, if it's just money, moving to another company in the same role - PM... You might regret very soon..
