Yes many people are doing.just you need to get permission from your manager and also depends on project requirements

You can, but your access card is most likely not going to work by default outside of your base location, the concerned team at your preferred location would require an approval mail from your N+1 manager to enable access.

Just inform your N+1 with some reason about reporting to a different location and if he agrees, Write a mail to the command centre of that particular location that you need to work from this location temporarily keeping your N+1 in cc. Within few hours you will get the access. Please include your ID card number as well in the mail.
