Can I be a Business analyst before becoming an APM

I am a 2 yr experienced UI developer, trying to get a PM intern role but couldn't get any, so joining some courses will increase my chances to get in as APM? I see ppl on LinkedIn still applying to intern roles even after completing the courses. I'll be very thankful for your suggestions.
