Trending @Cognizant; Can I ask for stack change in my current project?

Hi I’m a PAT currently and I want to change the kind of work I do as it feels very uninspiring. It’s mostly SQL related and I complete it in mostly 3-4h, so I’ve been getting a lot of time to upskill myself. I’ve been learning more about machine learning and have done several projects on it and I want to get real life experience. Would consulting my manager regarding this be a good idea?
