Can HR verify Bank statements

The Google rangoli design for the day. Do you really think they do that much work?. Verify bank statement. Wow..
They have to reach out to the bank, ask for details, bank will enquire reasons, they have to justify, bank will deny for privacy reasons, they have again justify,, then probably call them and explain, .. this is equivalent of one year HR effort.

Ps. Seriously saying - banks won't share. Even if you ask for your parents details they won't share.

Yup, background verification is crazy

Not really. But sometimes Background Verification Agencies have unofficial tie ups with bank clerks for verifications.
