Can any one suggest me what should I do?

I recently joined TCS and was allocated to a project. However, I haven’t worked with that technology before, but my manager is asking for daily updates on the assigned tasks. The project needs to be completed within a couple of months. Can anyone suggest what I should do or how to release from the project?
