Came across a practical advice for dealing with micro managers
I have been reading this book called the intelligence trap and came across this advice.
Give them 2 options to a problem, one which is the actual solution to the problem and the other one,the decoy, that they can refuse and boost their ego.
Massage their egos by making them feel that they are in control.

What if it backfires and they want to implement the decoy?

You didn't get the point. You have to make the decoy look so easy to refute that they can't resist it. Micromanagers , like most Indian managers, want to feel they are in control. The job of decoy is to give them that feeling.

I did get your point. But there are some micromanagers who will still go for the decoy even if it is easy to refute, just to look like they are doing something different, or sometimes their thought process is just screwed.
Example?
