Calling sir… Is it necessary
In TCS some people are addressing their manager SIR. Is it normal here?

They are SIR-Dard not SIR at all

Here some old guys like to get called as Sir mam boss..
I do tell my juniors to address me with my name only..but they are so feared and find it difficult to call other seniors by sir mam boss and only to me by name.. very bad practice in tcs offices from years

That’s against company policy I believe. You can check with your HRBP

If you have problem with Sir , You can call them tauji, chachaji, dadaji etc whatever you wish to... What else do you expect in this hierarchical company... 99% of accounts oldies expect you to call them sir

Norm is name calling. But, I have noticed few addressing a person as Sir whose age may be near 60s.

In my previous project, first day in the project, my managers asked me to not to call them “sir”

no

No, not normal
