C3A to C3b promotion
What is the criteria for C3b promotion. Just want to understand the best case and worst case scenario. How many years does it take in TCS for C3A to next promotion? I know it depends on multiple factors, any info would be appreciated.
I joined TCS in 2015 as C3A and since then I'm in still same designation , also having B band for 4 consequently. Still waiting for C3B promotion,each time management says a different story for giving promotion. I'm an individual contributor with no team members for my work .
criteria as per my experience is : You should have 10+ year experience , there should be a minimum gap of 3 years between your last promotion and this promotion. Your chance to get promote is high when they think you are adding extra value into a project and project have dependency on you. By promoting you they will make you happy so you will not look outside. c3b is not only related to mangment level. If you are technically superior then you will get promoted irrespective of your managment role.
3.5 years in current grade, a or b band, 2+ t factor, MLT Complete if applicable, should be lead or architect, leadership training completed, good amount of wfo
In my experience, probability of getting promotion is very rare in current situation. Before 10 years , it was different , company was in expansion mode , every year adding 40k freshers on average, so there were many lead/manager role promotions based on yoe.
In current situation, even after paying just 1/4th (max) of client billing amount to employee, they are asking about multiple things from below.
- Wings compliance
- return to office compliance
- continuous A band compliance
In future, they may add something else compliance (ex: you pant color not matched with shirt on 3 months back, so as per grooming policy, you are not eligible 😂)
Anyway , its my perception. You may get it soon , all is well , all the best.
All depends on your manager
MLT , RTO COMPLIANT are imp factors along with prev bands & unit recommendations.
There is no criteria for promotion, even people are promoted in just one year after joining TCS.
Best Criteria is: Maintain very good rapo with your Manager and Delivery Manager. You will get it within time frame.
I got my 3 continuous As after Couple of Cs i got my C3A 7 year back...C...am i eligible for C3B..
