C2 Promotion
My manager has initiated my promotion in December 2023 still I haven't got promoted. Is there any ETA or after receiving band I will be promoted?
1)Promotion happens in quarters.

initiating promotion wont give you promotion. Your manager needs to give offline recommendation. There is a window for it every quarter.

there is no timeline, timeline is what your manager decides. I know someone who got c2 promotion after 2 3 years of raising it.

He said he pushed alot from his end and now pending at HR
In an ideal situation, your manager raises a promotion request and "gives recommendation"(say in feb) then most likely you will get the promotion letter in april.
Why april. (Thats when Q results will be announced and usually a week after that people will start getting their letters)
If a manager simple raises the request, hr will never act on the request for many quarters. It will stay pending.
If a manager gives that offline recommendation, your HR will approve and you will receive it next quarter. Thats it
It all depends upon multiple factors. Is your manager aware of the work you do? Are you RTO compliant? Are you in Good terms with manager? I'll be completing 5 years this August in TCS. I wasn't RTO compliant and hence wasn't given promotion. I got 2 consecutive Band As. Good really good feedback from the client. But wasn't given a promotion as I wasn't RTPO compliant. I asked the manager multiple times. But nothing helped. He said 'it's initiated from my end, it's with H'R'. 'We've done our job. It's HR's duty now', 'We raised it, now it's the leadership's word that will push' etc.

There is no multiple factors for C2. RTO is not at all considered.
If your manager "gives recommendation" after raising the request HR will approve it.
Dont believe Other lame reasons from your manager
@iPretendToWork I've been begging for a promotion since a long time. I belong to a different unit and I used to work for a different unit. There was always a blame game on the promotion. I can't ask for promotion now as I'm on bench.
