Buying car in KA vs DL/HR/UP
We all know that KA charges the highest road tax & most of the North Indians are still running with other state car numbers. Has anyone heard in the past 3-4 years that RTO has asked anyone for a fine because he/she using the vehicle in KA with another city number? Has the rule changed or has RTO become less strict?

Paying the fine is cheaper than paying the tax
Largely no issue but if you are really unlucky, RTO folks assisted by traffic police might stop someday. They may do this drive once or twice a year. Best to go with BH series if you can. And if the delta between KA and other state numbers is not much, then maybe just easy to go with KA. Saves you from other hassles.
I do use a different vehicle number from last 10-12 months. Police just stopped me once.
