Business roles in tech are underrated
Everyone wants to be a software eng in tech, but business roles are just as exciting! you shape strategy and drive revenue growth, work closely with leadership to solve big problems, have a direct impact on company direction. I’m a marketer and my fav part is getting to see the direct impact my input has on the bottom line ($$$s) and honestly I fucking lovvvve my job.

Hey, how can you switch to business roles being a software engineer

I have seen people first go for big 4 or other consulting and from there they usually shift to business roles in other companies.

Similar here. Impact of work is 5x now.

Business role in tech, could you elaborate on that what different roles can be there, and which one can be easy to transition from tech

U have done mba I guess ?

@WornProtocol46 - is it possible for a FMCG retail business guy to move to Tech easily ? I am game for it . Have 8 years work experience post MBA .

So do companies ask for/ prefer candidate with a business degree like MBA despite you having 5+ yrs of experience - mix of tech + consulting. I understand that the client's experience is the key. But I feel there's more to it in the corporate landscape of things.

I am in software engg, but dont live it. I want to get in Business roles in tech. How can I transition? Current work experience 3.7 years as dev in Big company. @WornProtocol46

Do people with no tech background get a chance to work here with good business experience?
How does one even get into it without experience and an MBA?

True. Even I’m thinking of leaving tech behind for a business role which entails founder’a office. How’s your pay though?
