Burn out at TCS
I’m working in US client project. We have team of 3 developers 1 from onshore and 2 from offshore.
We have shared responsibilities on the tasks that we have. The idea of this structure was to have development going on in both time zones.
When onshore developer is working we are sleeping next day India morning we pick up the work where it was left by onshore and work till night to meet deadlines. Now at night after stand up at 8:30 PM IST we have to log off and handover the work to onshore. The onshore developer refuses to take the handover and makes us stay online until the work is completed. We have to share the screen and complete the work in 1-2 hrs after stand up every day given that we have also worked during day time. We have communicated this to him but there is no change and we are threatened that complaint will be raised that we are not meeting the deadlines. The deadlines are also set to by him only without taking consent from us. Let say if there were 3 deliverables as deadline came near it became 5 and the it was committed by him that we will finish without taking our consent. For his commitments we have to stretch everyday. Instead of working like a team member he is working like supervisor and making us work like labourers. I have already resigned so I ll be out of this mess feeling bad for my fellow developer from ODC . He control our entire evenings everyday. When he decides we can log off then only we log off. We feel this totally unethical.
What we can do about this ?

Been there before. Unfortunately you can't do much. You're slogging your entire day till 10-11pm while he starts his work at 6-7am and logs off by 3-4pm (yes work hours in US are like that). Only option was to resign and you should recommend your colleague to do the same.

My colleague joined just now and he is unable to deny he logs in 10am ist given Bangalore traffic and because of him we have logging off 11 every day

Hey bro i'm also facing the same. My project made me worked like hell for almost 2 years promising A band and promotion. But they didn't provided the things which they promised. I raised a band disagreement and asked for release and now they are threating me and doing micromanagement. I am also fully frustrated now dont knw what to do. Preparing for a switch in this hard times. Office politics in my project is at peak level.

Don't care about his escalation he is your teammate not a boss, give a handover and log off, he is getting paid more than you for same work so don't think about him or escalations. After several escalation they will off board you, look for other project or go out

I’m already on notice period.
I really don’t care about him and his commitments now

Bhai usko bol de maa c*uda. If you are doing your share of work the onshore fcker can go fuk his self.

TCS became the worst management. All US people are god and Indian are slaves. Management thinks like that

Whoever works from the US either he is a local or indian having the same mentality. I escalate the issue to HR that manager/management is asking to work 12-14 hrs every day.

These onsite people are a bunch of shits who are exploiting their own tcs fellows, The only suggestion is don't overstretch yourself because it will only help him to extend his on-site visa and you will get nothing.

You don't have to slog like as if there is no next day. You need work life balance to run your family. Better instruct ur onsite counterpart to follow the hand over takeover properly. After all, he is a TCS er at onsite not a customer. You need to be like me, what I would do is just complete the task and share the status in an email copying the DM and BRM.. Also talk to him softly as if you are on his side, but at that end, he is not going to save you during the problem..
On several occasions I did this and it worked.
I got multiple As during my appraisal too. If you are strong technically, nobody is going to beat you, believe yourself

Ur onsite guy is missing u guys , just take few days of sick leaves and he will be done ..

Give some kiss of ass him
