If you are looking for better spam call blocker app similar to truecaller then what are the few things which as a user you guys will expect as a user ?
Truecaller now only about ads now a days, finally decided to build android app.
Regarding data and other stuff will figure out something.
Please have the option to have an icon closer to the default iOS app. The TC logo is embarrassing to have on the Home Screen

The app icon on the Home Screen at least. Would look great in the bottom app tray.
Also, how do you intend to cold start the network? My guess is that this kinda business has network effects and may not work at a smaller scale?
Privacy. I dont want the app to be like truecaller going through all my sms contents which has confidential info
minimalist. Truecaller is cramped with a lot of features which i never used. I want the app to be capable of only doing the basic things.

It can cancel the spam call on its own and saves my time... Truecaller still wastes time as we have to see and reject
Yeah, I think this should be present in app and one more to sustain the app how much should I charge from user or should keep it free and figure something else for monetization?
I had issues with blocking spam calls. Sadly, some of the legit customer care numbers are marked as spam. In my case, I filed a complaint with Airtel Internet. It was not resolved for a long time and turns out, they were trying to reach me through a spam number that blocked.
Something like what truecaller tried to do hut make it more refined: Auto pick unknown numbers, and let the AI evaluate if its a spam call or not and then transfer/reject the call to me based on the evaluation, if its refined enough people would be willing to pay for a subscription.
Keen to know how you have built it.
For me dont even show that there was spam call altogether delete it from call history

Any such app would need contact permission. To make a database for spam filtering, reporting.
Has anybody also observed that the number of spam calls for credit card, pre approved loans increased exponentially?
