I have a neutral stance on this statement. Less than 3% of India's population pays income tax. Compare it to top gdp nations, more than 30% pays tax in every country (except brazil, where 15-20% pay income tax). Rising population has rising needs. However employment rate is not rising accordingly. However if appeasement policies end and freebies end, the money that we will save will be more than enough to not increase taxes.

Every year we work for almost 3+ months ONLY FOR GOVERNMENT. It really hits hard and an eye opener as we barely get anything in reverse.
