india is not good for travellers, i recently read one posts by foreign girl that she's been travelling around southern part of india and eye oggling and random stranger photo requests she received is more than enough for her to give the good image in her mind. last week she was staying in some hotel from one week and thinking of going back to her country.
in another incident, you might have seen video of nainital girl rage in which she wasn't wrong to say this to tourists to atleast pick their litters and don't pollute the mountains.
in india, people don't even care about these small things, most have understood that it's their road and place and can do whatever they want wherever they want.

I agree with the expensive part, it's crazy. But disagree with the travelling part. Yes, it's not polished as Europe or clean as S.E Asia but the sights, experiences and fulfillment is something that you won't get anywhere in the world except India. From the ganga aarthis, to temples in South, the royal palaces, the jungles, the goan beaches, the safaris, the ghats, the beautiful N.E, the farms in villages, the himalayas and the umpteen tourist spots throughout the country. India is special. You just need a small dose of reality check when you are travelling in India

Why do I get the slight feeling that this dude tried to stay in the cheapest places, ate the cheapest food and then started complaining? A lot of people do this, compare mediocrity in India with other countries where they stay in 4-5 star resorts.

People in foreign are responsible, accountable and have made their lives beautiful. We are in chalta hai attitude. Our netas have criminal cases, rampant corruption, and all the points OP said.
You can live in cheapest places in foreign and it would be cleaner than above average streets we live in here
Finally somebody said the truth. Tourism in India sucks. i prefer visiting some relatives of mine , at least that will lead to some relationship building.
Even Indians find it difficult to travel in other states. I remember trying to understand the bus number and destination, which was written in Kannada, while travelling to Hampi.
I thought I was the only who one used to get anxiety when traveling, each is everyone is out there to loot with shitty service, outside India atleast the customer service is top notch and people are so polite, sometimes even the travel is much much cheaper than India
