Breaking the wall of IIT/IIM tags & build skill based tags

We all know the problem of IIT/IIM tags where candidates with better skills are not given the first preference, Is this changing or further strengthening in the system ?

I think there is a need to break this systemic mis-thinking and it is already happening in someways. What are your views on this and do you see this changing or getting replacing with other tags ?

Wouldn’t it be great if a platform exists where a new set of tags are created (Endorsed) purely on skills. Candidates can obtain this tags and display on their resume and companies can verify these credentials on the platform!

India is not a skill based economy. We are a trading economy. With increased purchasing power, it's easier and quicker to make money by buying and selling than manufacturing and selling. More than skill brand name make better money for companies. So , no we are far away from valuing skills than brand name

Big colleges act as filtering mechanism for the hiring companies. They can’t test every candidate so they rely on the college name . Though definitely these skill platforms like Hackerrank, stack overflow, leetcode etc are rising . Maybe if you add more competencies like communication, logical thinking etc I might create an alternative scoring for hiring companies. Interesting idea.
