Lack of flirting, and/or always avoiding romantic/flirting/sexual topics during conversations, and instead just interested in "hanging out" and talking about neutral topics. That will get a girl into the friend-zone/bro-zone, especially if she's not very conventionally beautiful/attractive.

(However, women who are very attractive/good-looking will rarely get bro-zoned by guys, irrespective of their behavior. Being attractive/good-looking is like a cheat-code in life, for all genders. People will overlook and give you a pass for almost any other shortcomings, which less attractive people don't get. 🤷‍♂️😅)

Simple really. It’s not you. If a guy thinks you are not open to dating him or that he has a better option he can date, he would focus on that, and you are the friend. Men are simple like that. There is no calculation or planning or cultivation of a backup. They think of you in a romantic sense if they like you and think you would date them, else you are a friend. (Also there is no signaling of beefing up their preferences to show they Are high value. That is not a guy thing. Some intuition who they are attracted toto, that’s it.) If you listen to what a guy says, he will tell you.

I usually say bro to everyone but says aap to one. And also uses aap for elders.
