Bored of everything šŸ˜¶ā€šŸŒ«ļø

I am comparatively smart than my peers. Not out of ego, but a bit of self confidence. Started as a mechanical engineer in 2019 with 5k salary, went into SaaS sales, then consulting, then did my MBA, again went back to Operations, then went into product marketing and now into Product management. I am in a decent place at my life, I am content with salary I am getting. But I clearly know it is not enough for my skillset. Getting in the range of 10 to 12 LPA. But lately I feel bored of my work and life, I don’t know is this what I really want to do for next 20 years. Is like only this? Is there something else for me as a dream career? I want to wake up to something I really love and be in a flow state šŸš€ Is anyone going through this kinda state? Has any legends been in same phase and came out? Any hacks or mental models.

Then why would you tell that you are the best candidate in a job interview? Are you really the best?
I told I am comparatively smart, not the smartest in the world…read it first buddy

Try joining a more challenging startup?

This startup is challenging enough. But somewhere I feel, I am just a fancy project manager. There is room for growth, but idk…weird feeling, maybe it is internal.

Ahh got it. Happens to a lot of managerial positions. Because they are not builders who are actively building something, it feels like the work they are doing is less effective or not moving the needle enough.

I think you’re looking at it the wrong way. Jobs might or might not be interesting, and honestly, that part isn’t always in your control. For most people, work is the boring bit—they find their fun outside of it.

What’s in your hands is your life beyond work. Try new things. Set different milestones. Start a family, raise kids, run a marathon, trek a mountain, or pick up new skills like playing an instrument, scuba diving, or surfing.

In short make your life fun. Work will rarely be the fun part.

Yes….I surely agree to your POV….I also am in constant search for that…I like movie making, sports etc…But as daily time passes, work is eating up majority of the chunk… So that was the whole point of this post…where do I really wanna work this way? What you suggested are kinda hobbies or add ons in life…But my main point was, I want my work to give me the energy or the flow state where my work is fun…Idk, it is hard to explain…hope you got the jist

Since we don't have any source of income . I am just working for it. But will not leave of doing some buisness instead of working under someone

I had a similar feeling, started my own startup eventually. It's a challenging and rewarding experience but not for everyone.

I’m also having same thoughts. Been working on an idea, only on paper and have sketched some ideas. But every-time I feel, am I even ready, what if I fail…all doubts…kinda tricky…thanks for reply :)

@Bhidu I remember you once said that you changed more than 10 companies in 10 years but why?

If you are smart enough, you should have figured it outšŸ˜› kidding. Maybe there is something specific you want to achieve at work and personal life too. If there is something you want to do in your personal life focus on that. Everyone's job is not exciting as it seems. Good after work which you feel is challenging, prior to that focus on personal goals too then switch jobs.

Also focus on your physical and mental health always .

I’m opening a Cafe shop soon, as I feel that’s the only AI proof job forever, and i can very well decide my earnings, and I don’t have to answer to anyone. I can just get up in the morning, say it’s my day again, enough of this corporate bullshit

My cousin did the same thing. He is earning well, but he has got backing from his dad and mom. But I agree to your pov…opening a business that runs always and many years to go, is the thing.
