I've been having this same thought. Used to always think reddit mods were complete dicks (I still do). But now I understand. I really think this is the way forward.

I thought I solved the problem by unfollowing the salary discussion forum. But then, i see that it doesn't matter, because these users post the polls on unrelated forums as well. Not to mention GV thinks I'm interested in this and recommends this to me even when I'm not following them.
