Blind makes me feel so freaking lost and poor and dumb
I generally feel I am doing pretty okay living in India. I work for a bank in Bangalore as Lead SWE and make around 50 LPA all fixed for 10+ years experience. Given the humble background I am from, I know and I feel I am privileged and more often than not grateful. But that all breaks when I go to Blind. They literally call anything less than a 1cr as “too low”.
And then all those posts and coupled with the posts marking high US salaries I feel I am so backward.
Anyone else feel this too?

On Blind they will call anyone earning less than 400k poor lol.
It's true though.....
Blind is xhutiya! Ppl there making 900k - am i earning enough? Will net worth 10mil - is this enough to retire?
Dont take them seriously
Wait wait...
So it's true that a lot of them are getting 300k+ for 4 yoe... Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft etc... Pay that kind of salary.
But long story short that 350k is equivalent to 1cr in India. If you hit that much then u r on par..
Ok. So simple terms if you are in Google , then u would earn that much, if not no. So same ratio applies there. How many people do you think could actually work at Google? Those people will no doubt make more money. But they are a small bunch.
Coming specifically to you, 10+ yoe, 50LPA fixed is now getting to be on the low side no doubt. 4-5 yoe make that much now... So yep, try and do your best to do just 1 switch. That's it you would be landing okay at say 70-80 lpa which is not that bad.
You are at average package. But you can reach 60-65 percentile atleast in 1 switch. Play the market a bit more and in the same switch you will be able to make it to 80th percentile which is more than fckin fine. Once u reach there ignore the rest and just be competent at your job and do justice to the company that pays you that well
So all am saying is you didn't know what the avg market was till now, now that you know, make 1 switch and reach ur potential. That's it. No bigger deal than that. It's nothing to feel bad about. Just awareness and using it
Philosophical, you should have control your time and action. And money should help you meet your and your family needs.
After a while money is just a number, so you better have mental peace than greed to earn more unless above things are not met.
Also, i feel one should do more meaningful activities, contributing back to society as we age. I feel most in our generation are getting individualistic which is not great for India 🇮🇳 as society
Well stop letting Blind do that to you by uninstalling it. Instagram is also really bad influence. Anyway, what u gonna do… there will always be someone who is better off than u - even if more dumb than u.
