BITS Pilani WILP Programmes
Hi,
I wanted an honest experience review from anyone who’s been a part of BITS PILANI WILP programs. I’m specifically looking for MTech in DS& Engineering, Mtech in AI & ML and MBA in Business Analytics.
I just came across these programs and the deadlines close very soon for January 2026 batch. I’m a tech APM working in a data product and looking to upskill and add a post grad degree to my resume.
Really appreciate any inputs I can get. I have a CS Btech background - graduated in 2020 so It’s been a while since I have gone back to Uni style studying.
Wanted to understand how hard the programme is - how difficult the exams/ projects/ assignments are, how much time needs to be devoted, quality of teaching/ resources etc, any challenges or caveats I might not be aware of - basically any and every input would work.

I have completed MTech in Data Science from BITS WILP in NOV 2025, here is my two cents
- It is a proper and authentic MTech degree.
- It is not a piece of cake, if you think that you can do it as a side hustle, then stay away.
- it requires complete 2 years of focused dedication, forget about your weekends plan for these 2 years, weekend will have online classes of total 8 hrs, combination including sat and sunday
- All exams will be conducted at offline center , mode of exam will be pen and paper.
- each semester will have four subjects, means 4 mid semester, 4 final exam i.e total 8 exam per semester, in addition to 8 quizzes and 4+4 assignments. Quizes and assignments will have fixed deadline.
- At the end of 3rd semester your cgpa should be > 5.5 in order to eligible for final semester i.e dissertations.
Pls Let me know if you have any specific question

What happens if someone doesn't have GCPA >5.5 at the end of 3rd sem ? The degree is gone ?

friends did mba’s from bits and it was piece of cake and many did btech from bits and it was still a piece of cake

Did your friend do the WILP degree specifically ? I was told that it is more rigorous compared to regular distance learning programs. Also - there aren’t any caveats wrt getting the degree right?
