Big Salaries, Fancy Things—But at What Cost?

Why do materialistic things hold such immense importance when the ultimate goal for most of us is simply to be happy and healthy?

We often find ourselves chasing big salaries, skipping peace, indulging in unhealthy “fancy” foods, and showcasing costly clothes, accessories, cars, and homes. Meanwhile, corporations and hospitals rake in profits, sometimes at the expense of our well-being.

Sustainable products remain rare and expensive, and few people opt for them. Worse, some earn money by harming others or the environment—through unethical practices, cheating, scandals, or exploitation.

Are we trapped in a cycle where short-term gratification and societal validation outweigh genuine happiness, health, and ethical living?

I’d love to hear your thoughts:

• Why do we prioritize materialism or showoff over peace, health or happiness? • How can we shift focus toward values that truly matter?

Let’s spark a conversation!
