BGV verification process

Hi everyone / HR

I need some advice and honest feedback from you all.

During the lockdown, I joined a company but had to leave in just 7 days due to COVID-related circumstances. The issue is, this short stint is also reflecting in my EPFO records, and it’s been bothering me intensely because I’m not sure how future employers will view it.

Currently, I’ve been working with another firm for the past 4 years, so I do have solid experience and stability. But since I have long-term career goals, I don’t want such a small incident to create unnecessary hurdles.

Do firms like Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Citco, Citi, or other top IB firms verify with every past employer?

How do they usually view such very short stints (especially during COVID)?

Should I proactively mention this upfront, or only clarify if they ask?

And importantly, is there any way to remove or update such short employment records from EPFO?
