BGV reference details doubt, whose details to put.

  1. Can I put reference details of someone who was just a colleague but he is lead position now so can he just say I worked under him. Or we need to write manager details only.

  2. Can I give details of a friend who didn't work in my previous company , but can he say he did work in my previous with me.

It's my first time doing bgv please help.

You can give a reference of anyone that you want, it can be your previous manager, or a colleague as well. Usually whenever you change the company, hr always takes three references, one from the HR of the previous firms, one can be your immediate manager, and one can be any colleague of the previous firm. If you have the flexibility to choose the referrals then anyone who worked with you in other firms can also be out as a referral.

Just a question in general, should referalls be given from different companies? Or can they all be from the same place?

Ideally they should be from the same place as the immediate company you are leaving.. You can confirm this from the HR as well. If this is not the mandate you can provide the names to other companies referrals as well who have worked with you in the past.

Don't do number 2. I will give you an example. In my previous company, the reference I gave was someone else's, and they called someone else. But that person still worked in the company so checked the records and said that yes , I was working there. Hence to avoid such situations, don't do 2. 1 is ok
