Bgv for new company after oracle layoff
Hello everyone, I’m currently going through a background verification process for a new opportunity, and I wanted to clarify a couple of things regarding my previous employment at Oracle. I was part of the Oracle layoff and I wanted to know how the layoff is typically reported during background checks by third-party verification agencies.
Does Oracle (or the third-party service handling employment verification) typically mention the reason for departure, such as “laid off due to restructuring” during the verification process?
Is it standard to only provide basic details like employment dates, role, and employment status, or would the third-party agency disclose the reason for layoff?

What's your tech stack and YOE, which org you were part of ?

Oracle is not going to mention layoffs anywhere during your background check and a green signal will be given, have seen this scenario and got to know from HR as well. Hence you can stay assured that in the bgv process, layoff is not at all going to come in picture. Enjoy your offer and congratulations if you have got one.
