If you are new to PM space,I would advice you to hustle and explore startups which are in its growth stage.Only if you are new to PM space!!!

Why? No offense to big org like Amex and how much they want to sugar coat but what you actually would end up doing is Project management/Scrum management. In a nutshell you will be managing the feature factory as a delivery manager but your designation will read as Product Manager.

So if you really want to sharpen your actual PM skills (product discovery, customer interviews, prioritisation, experimentation,A/B testing,GTM etc.),then keep exploring.

Not tooting my own horn, but Amex has tremendous growth opportunities. You get a very generous pay check, high tech culture and a solid brand.

Jio’s cool too, but I don’t know much about their work culture.

Can we connect on discord or any other platform. Want to understand which team are you from and how is your learning curve at Amex

Jio has varied work culture, depends on team. The product which I am hired for is starting from root so might be hectic. Amex is good with pay and brand, work wise I feel it’s less of PM work and more team management which I am not entirely okay considering growth aspiration

The only downside of Jio I am seeing right now is relocation. Bangalore is tech hub and pocket friendly, mumbai might not be!

I’d look at the profiles of Amex PMs (education, previous companies) and also where they typically exit to. I’ve not heard of Amex for Product Management so far (maybe it’s a new team), so one concern would be is it really product work that other companies would consider in future, when you want to switch.

Jio has a big PM team and I’ve seen Product going there and coming from there to other good PM roles. Check how the culture of the team you’re joining is, and also is the notice period reasonable in case you don’t like it there and want to exit. 3 months can make job hunting difficult.
