Creating a course to teach system design is nearly impossible because it’s an evolving, hands-on process. The best way to learn is by exploring engineering blogs that share how real teams tackle and solve complex problems. System design is never perfect on the first try—it requires multiple iterations before it becomes stable and efficient.

To become a proficient system designer, it’s essential to dive deep into various topics like cloud computing, distributed systems, networking, operating systems, and system programming. Each of these areas provides foundational knowledge that helps you understand how different components interact and scale within a system. By gaining expertise in these domains, you can better navigate the complexities of designing robust and scalable systems.
