Given that maternity expenses are so high , I am planning to take a Heath insurance for her which covers maternity expenses and other health conditions. Any suggestions ?

Dont you have a health insurance provided by your employer(if salaried)?

Most health insurance have waiting period for maternity cover. You cannot immediately use it. Waiting period ranges from a year(best case) to 3years
