Best place to buy an engagement ring?
Also suggest, what type should I buy. And budget? (Men only, sorry women, can't trust you on budget). So I am middle class itself. Earning 65 lpa. I don't want to spend too much neither spend less. I am not poor so 🤷🏻♀️ so help me out

Actually none. These are good brands for work or party wear AFAIK.
I’m not sure where you are looking for. But in bangalore, Krishnaiah Chetty has a good collection of wedding rings. Bhima’s has a good collection as well. The former is a bit premium. You’ll get good diamond ones for around 30-35k. Solitaire will start from 45-50k.
And you’re not middle class!😏

I don't see why wouldn't you want women recommendations? Literally another woman has to wear it! How would men help you with this? They'll share their own experiences which may/maynot be the best. Aim for the best for your wife:)
And, congratulations man!! 🎊

+1

I think more or less all brands are similar however design matters a lot for a ring as girls prefer to wear it everyday so it should match with daily outfit while looking trendy.

Yes yes. That's primary. I was checking even Tanishq. Which is famous but didn't really like the designs... My fiancee is suggesting couple bands, but they look quite simple. I guess that fine more or less for men, but for the one I am buying for her I felt solitaire type of design caught my eye...
What is the perspective on designs according to you?

Also, quality is important.. it should not break right? Is that same across all these brands?

dude 65LPA and middle class doesn’t go hand in hand.
Here’s my take as you didn’t mention if you are buying for her or yourself, so I am assuming it’s for her.
Metal choice => gold or diamond.
- Here’s the catch, sometimes pure( 22k) Gold ring can be even costlier than diamond and 18k gold mix.
- Go for mix of diamond and gold if her preference is design.
- Go for Gold if you are looking from resale value POV, incase you want to change in future.
Type of ring =>
- Bands are very popular these days, but most women will all together reject the idea of wearing a band on engagement. if your significant other is fine with it, It’s best. ( simple, elegant, most pure so you are actually putting money in gold/platinum rather than just some designer cost)
Vendors =>
Try CaratLane, their designs are good, a bit costly but you get for what you pay. you will get a decent ring in 60-70k
Reliance Jewels - I find them best/ affordable in Gold. You might have to check some shops to find the best design if you are picky. Their stocks usually sell very fast.
Malabar has the best antique looking jewellery collections, you can try if that’s your cup of tea.
Tanshiq shops near me aren’t that good, so I don’t have much idea there.

Also i find bluestone costlier than others for no good reason. Designs are good but then design is subjective.

Says a swiggy guy. Bro u must be earning a ton more..
Anyway, thanks for the ideas---
So-- she suggested bands! I didn't like it, as it looked too simple. But this perspective is very good, I like it now. Let me recheck👌 thanks.
What about krishnaiah chetty? I Have been hearing it, and reviews are very high in comparison..
And please I want to know the threat of synthetic diamonds... If they become very popular in future, will that not drop diamond value. I want to get a diamond one, but this is the only worm in my head now.

Panchakesari in Jayanagar 4th Block, Bangalore. VBJ in Chennai
