Don't self-diagnose yourself. Is your hair fall type diffused thinning or shows telltale signs of male pattern alopecia? If it is the former it could be a telogen effluvium flare up due to stress or nutrients deficiency. If it is the latter then your only luck is to go for minox with finasteride. Fin could mess up your sax sux life. Go to a derm to find out and do the needful. You can save a lot of hair, even regrow them back, with the right treatment and luck

It is likely hereditary because from childhood only I have had wide forehead. People used to applaud it as “wide” forehead being lucky, but when I look back at those pics now, I realize that those were early signs of impending receding hairlines. Currently it is more like Grade 2 level loss, which I am able to conceal 50% by using unique hairstyle. But thinking if I should do more…

You will have to rely on Minox and fin. Minox will help you to stimulate your roots and expedite hair gain, while fin will help you to stop your loss on its tracks. Many folks just rely on Minox for hair fall, but that is like running against a car, it will always catch up with you.

Your extent of hair loss demands these two treatments. I believe the doc will readily recommend them too. Brace up for shedding, however. It gets worse before it gets good. Keep at it. And refer r/hairloss r/minox communities for further info. Good luck!

Consult a dermatologist. Minoxidil works for me but it's better to consult a professional and get a prescription

Thanks, makes sense. I will visit, let me once review all these names and read a bit

Sure thing. If your hairfall is genetic you'll most likely get minoxidil/finnasteride solution with some supplements prescribed. Read about them if you'd like to

Anasure - F. I think you only need a prescription if you’re ordering it online, that goes for most meds in India lol.

That prescription part was about its impacts and recommendations, like antibiotics should not be taken without prescription, same way, what about hair serum

BouncyCupcake

No I think you’re good if you do your research and you’re sure. You can consult doctors you know informally about it. And also I come from a family of docs so my experience with prescriptions is a little biased lol.

Hate to say this but nothing’s gonna work. Just accept it, and maybe go for PRP/transplant if feasible

JumpyPretzel

PRP seems useless. Hair transplant, I have considered many times, but the time consuming procedure scares me. Also, of late, with the older procedure chances of infection too used to be there, even with this latest procedure it might be there. So that time consuming part, and some risk involved, keeps me from going for Hair Transplant, and I end up thinking, let the natural events take its course😄 But then I don’t want to leave it too much upto nature😄

Totally feel you man. Another option is to get a hair patch for a few years and then transplant later when you have the time. I would have gone for the transplant right now but I am getting married by the year end, and transplant requires a year to achieve ideal state. So, thinking of getting a patch before the wedding.
Also, I agree about the transplant risks, it’s very important to go for a highly qualified and involved doctor with multiple references. The effort and monetary risk is really high

Any idea how is Dr Batra's Homeopathy treatment? I am getting my hairfall treated here for about 3 months now, but as the doctor advised, it takes longer to see some noticeable difference. I am not sure, hence needed some feedback.

JumpyPretzel

I tried homeopathy treatment once, NOT of Batra’s but of another such homeopathy chain (probably Positive Homeopathy). Took meds for 6 months, no effects. They expect us to take medicines for years, with blind trust, which I am not gonna do. I anyway don’t have much trust in Homeopathy stuffs. Ayurvedic Oils, I have still observed working (for Dandruffs), but no trust in Homeopathy.

Use minoxidil 5% daily on scalp. It helped my father a lot 😅

Minoxidil drops and Biotin tablets have no side effects? That’s what Doctor assured me, but just asking here too…

JumpyPretzel
JumpyPretzel

I feel cheated by the Doctor 😢 I jad clearly asked her if it has some side-effects like increased hair fall in the initial phase, and she told No. But now, in the medicine box’s inside pamphlets only I see it written. And it is also written that it is to be taken forever, and if it is stopped, all the gained hair will fall. I can’t afford to lose hair faster in coming times, with a hope to gain back those after 4-6 months, can’t do that. Had she told me this aspect, I won’t have taken it. Now I am almost certainly going to stop. Will go and tell her too, when I go to consult about the blood test report.

If the worlds richest man Jeff Bezos couldn't do anything to prevent hairfall or grow his hair back, what will you be able to do?

I am not world’s richest man, besides I am not married either. Once I get married I too can prophetically say the same.
