I am from INDORE and moved to Pune.
There aren't much opportunities in indore unless you are satisfied with current salary and living in your own house so no rent. There wont be any good hikes as well. Salary growth will be stagnant, Pune offers better opportunity and good salaries..
I'm also from small town near Lucknow but my workplace is Bangalore. I want to change my base location but I'm also not getting any option. Although Accenture Noida/Gurugram is there but my domain/department is not there.

Remember, politicians in any state can raise the local dominance or can start a language supremacy war to suit their political agenda. If you are a North Indian, prefer staying on North part of India.We have seen many news were local MNS goons have harassed North Indians. Same is with Karnataka/Bangalore. You may work there but don’t think to settle. These issues can erupt any time and you will have to leave your costly flat in Bangalore or Pune to come back. I haven’t been in Hyderabad but have heard that it is one of the best cosmopolitan city with good infrastructure.
