Bengaluru electricity crisis

Why does Bengaluru electricity go even if some rains happen?

Also where does electric production happen in Bengaluru. I want to visit the place producing electricity.

Rain > wind > rain + wind > electric pole wires moves > +ve supply wire touches -ve supply wire > short circuit > fire or transformer burst > causes electric shock or stops electric flow till it gets repaired.

As a result power cuts would happen as a prevention or a cause for the above flow.

Thanks for the detailed answer. Why doesn’t this happen in other cities. In my city Ahmedabad there were zero power cuts even in heavy rains.

Maybe supply wires won't swing there with wind!!

Bengaluru has very old infra when it comes to Electricity Supply and has not kept up the pace with the number of high power requirements due to the large number of apartment complexes. To properly fix it, they have to dig the roads and change the cables under even some old buildings.

Also, recently, thanks to FREEBIES, the department doesn't have enough money to repair the damages if they occur.

So, as a precaution electricity is stopped during rains.

Lol, the problem starts with the printed electricity bill itself.

Zero maintenance of the supply infra. Has been the same at least since 2017 since I moved to Bangalore. But its similar in many other cities as well. Power generation mein vishwa guru but such frequent blackouts in what is called the nation's silicon valley.

Electricity quota in Bangalore

I heard there is some platform where if you register you get some amount subsidised in Bangalore. I wasn't able to find any such scheme though. Any idea whether something like this exists?
