Benefit or Loss to join TCS.
In this world, there are two kinds of people. One who wants a peaceful life, a good work, a good salary, and security of a job then a future retirement. This is considered one category. Another kind of person, who is always excited to do new things in life. They don't want a peaceful life instead they want challenges in life. Challenges kind of learning new skills immediately, switching jobs if required, go for tracking when feeling bored and more than that. It comes under the second category. You know guys, there is no right and wrong in this. Both are needed in this world. We should really welcome both nature of people in our life. To run a company both types of person required whether more or less. Yes it is true that some companies need a more peaceful kind of person than a more excited person and TCS can be considered in this category. Wherever the start-up which is either running or starting that place requires more excited people than peaceful people.

You will have security to an extent at TCS but will you be able to save for your retirement life from your tenure at TCS is a huge question. Because employees at same company for long draw lower salary than those who jump. You should be disciplined enough to save. If you get an onsite that is another story altogether. Keep in mind that basic salary is lower at TCS which means your PF and pension contributions are lower which may not be enough for you to sustain your 20+ years of retired life.
Yes you are right. But this is valid for some profiles. I think there are many profiles in TCS that are getting good pay. Enough for a simple life. Just an opinion.
Agree.. I see long timers who are with TCS more than 25 years who are at top positions have good pay. But those are growing to that level now a days are underpaid than them. Even if they have it basic pay has a cap on it and it's on base pay PF is calculated.
I joined tcs for job security but now my salary equivalent to security guard in the office.
That's true. But I don't think this is equivalent to a security guard salary. Since I know one person who is working as a security guard in TCS.
See buddy, If you are not satisfied with the salary that you are getting but might be some other person who can be satisfied with that.
- You have a better role compared to a security guard. So take this as an opportunity and learn if possible and then switch to another where you can get the expected salary.
- Once you switch then this position will be vacant and this position that person will get who is satisfied with this amount.
You know , in this process you will fulfill your dream and other people too. Just an opinion. Thanks by the way

The same person can belong to both categories during different instances of time. Sometimes in life you are alone and can focus on learning new things, taking up new challenges. But other times in life you are overwhelmed with family responsibility and cannot learn new things due to your troubled state of mind.
Hmm correct, we should add a third category of people who face both kinds of situations. Thanks buddy.
We just need to think about which kind of nature we have and what we really want in life. That will give us the answer to the above questions.
