
Bench time & RMG
Was on bench almost 10 years ago. Today's RMG system is same as it was then. I got a project through help of my friends only. RMG was clueless abt associate skill set & projects even then as well.
So seems that this RMG system remain rotten, by design.
Associates who are on bench don't get QVA. They don't get promotion during bench time. So TCS saves money in that. If a project is available & bench person is deployed then anyway it is low cost compared to hiring person from outside. If a person in bech is senior, they used get fired 10 years ago as well. But this time they are more strict. If person on bench could get a project on their own, it's good. If not & they want to move outside, then also TCS doesn't have any problem.
Creating a portal for ppl on bench is easy, but TCS doesn't want to spend money on that.
So RMG will continue to use their excel sheets, which will go nowhere. If you get profile matching your skill set, its purely due to your luck or contacts & NOT because efforts from RMG team.
If on bench, please search projects from your contact only. RMG by design, will never be able to help.
