I have been on the bench for the past 40 days. Recently, I attended an internal interview but was not selected because I lacked hands-on experience in that specific area.
I would like to understand the next steps:
- How long can I remain on the bench, will it be limited to 2 months, or could it extend further?
- If I am not allocated to a project within the next 20 days, will the company ask me to resign, or could they terminate my employment?
Bench period can last any number of months, but if you keep failing interviews, you’ll most likely be placed on the BOTP program.
I heard that employees are given a total of 4 chances, covering both interview rejections and opportunity rejections. After that, a meeting will be scheduled with HR, who will then take the final decision regarding forced resignation.
Once your RMG feels they don't have job for you, they will ask you to look in IJP
It depends on budget of your BU.
As long as you're not in their radar you're good to go for 6 months. But you better get a project after that get rating of 3 and above on Year End review.
Otherwise you'll be forced to resign with 1 month notice period

You will get full support from your BU just ask them if you are trying to learn any new skillset. Just don't stop learning as it will help you hear as well as elsewhere.
