Bench Period and Upskilling

It’s going to be 2 months since I’ve been on bench. Not that I’ve not received any calls but the the RMG has messed up with my skill set. I’ve been upskilling in these 2 months. The issue I’m facing is I’ve not been allocated till now due to not having a portfolio to showcase my skills. I’ve got experience of almost 4 years.

Have there been any reports of TCS pushing people into PIP or firing folks on bench? Have been stuck with this fear and has affected my focus on upskilling. I can neither work in my portfolio nor I can upskill. Everyday we hear news about the layoffs and the fear of being fired for being on bench for 3-4+ month has screwed up my mental health My grade is C1.

I do. I report to the RMG everyday. If I’m unable to do so, I apply for a leave on ultimatix

Here are my insights: TCS never fires anyone in such cases At max they will start deducting your CTC if you stay on bench for prolonged periods (like 4 months and beyond)
RMGs are least bothered about your skillsets, all they care about is their targets. Ignore them. Make sure you never mess around with their inflated ego. Keep upskilling in your area of interest only. If they pester you even more, then start looking for opportunities outside the company in your area of interest.

Can anyone tell what happens if you don't report to RMG but stay unallocated longer than 4 months?
