Being a Product Manager worth it?

Lately I am seeing a lot of devs transition to product management directly without an MBA. Those who have taken that path, is it worth it?

Why did you transition? What are some of the things you hadn't consider before making the switch, but faced only after it? If given the chance, would you continue being a PM or go back to development?

Can you please explain how role will keep changing? The domain might change

Ai assistant will take away bits and pieces of the role and empower other stakeholders like, customer support, customer research, Engg don't need scrum/ project managers, designer and FE role is getting merged as design engineer.

So as cross coordination reduces product role will change. B2b Mein PRD and slack discussion se cusotmer support and sales Team ka content, training material and slides ban jaate hai..

I myself see redundant now.
