Bangalore livibility 2026

Bangalore is no longer livable due to rise in traffic, pollution, garbage, land frauds, rowdism, and crimes. I want to know other Bangalore citizens opinion on this?

Born and raised in Bangalore. 40+ years. Depends on where you mean. Dustbowls full of migrant blue collar labour populations with high crime rates like Whitefield, Marathahalli, Varthur, Sarjapur are not ‘Bangalore’. I live in east Bangalore now and it’s an utter hellhole. Old Bangalore is still ok.

Yes, but traffic is everywhere, wether old or new. Low Crime rates and a decent crowd is a plus point in old blr. But I feel the city overall has lost its charm and there seems to be no hope of change.

Then...leave? Oh wait, can't get a higher paying job elsewhere? Tech ecosystem not as good? No. Of alternate employers not enough?

It's not a city's job to provide you with everything. Cities live for 100s of years. We're just passing through. You want to stay and build a life, adjust and stay. Else move on to what you perceive are greener pastures.

There is something called value for tax money, which I don't know you understand or not?. We are paying so much in taxes. Can't we expect basic things like clean cities, good roads, and safety in return? I don't think any sane person wud be happy if their tax money is wasted. And yes, it is a cities job to provide us with things that we are paying for.

Bangalore used to be my fav city , but currently I don't think it is the same. The cost of living is High, pollution. For People who are living in pg, food is horrible.

That's sad for them.

According to me both the government and the citizens are responsible for this condition of Bangalore.
