Bangalore folks, and particularly Kannadigas, where did you find your partner?
I'm at that age where is tremendous pressure to get married. Can't even put in words the kind of torture I go through every day. I'm a woman. I have met people mostly through AM set up. I didn't click with anyone. I don't have faith that I'll be anyone compatible through AM route. Tried dating app, quickly realised it's not for me, the compatibility is even worse there. I go to events and such, didn't really meet anyone. Idk if it's just the Kannada culture, everyone is just so shy! I enjoy being by myself but would prefer being with a partner. I realise the importance of having a companion. At the same time, I also don't want to just get married to someone for the sake of it.
So Bengalurians, especially Kannadigas, where did you meet your partner/SO/spouse?
What is something I should be doing that I'm not doing?
On the work front, I'm doing quite well. Looks wise too, I don't think I'm ugly.

I can reckon the same as a Bangalorean guy!!

Unrelated, how is Optum to work for?

Work life balance is good. Pay is decent. Quite good from my POV

Join events around hobbies such as dance, painting or pottery. Start interacting with guys that come there.
Don't be afraid to initiate conversation or make plans for dates, guys these days are mostly afraid of getting called a creep so it's upto women to break the ice now. If you keep waiting for guys to make a move you will be left behind by other women.

I’m meeting potential girls on Jeevansathi app and yeah AM sucks!! It’s a mentally draining process as most gals want taller guys who are handsome & earning decently as well.
I’m 5-6/10 on looks and I’m ~5’5” guy who earns decently and has good WLB. After a year of hunting I’ve found one girl that too in Delhi and she is not in software industry.

Do you want to make apps with her? How does it matter if she's not in software 😂

Bro/Sis, no girl wants to switch to another city. The only way I can get the marriage to work is by switching to another city. Bangalore girls don’t find me fun enough and I’m repeatedly getting a non-techie girl in Mumbai or Delhi. My own distant SDE cousin sister is rejecting boys left right center on crazy grounds such as, “boy doesn’t like to travel, how can I adjust with him”, “boy has no hobbies”, “boy doesn’t go to the gym” 🫠. Kaliyug 😞

@PineapplePlant I suggest you solo travel, go for treks, go to hostels, meet new people, experience new things - not only help you find somebody but also its gonna help see things differently. Perspective on things changes.

IMO there is very less probability that you will find someone who fits exactly like a jigsaw piece. The practical is to try to find someone whose expectations are low, so you can live the way you live now with minimal disruption. Likewise, its going to be very hard if you have high expectations. Assume someone like boys in your office but respecting your boundaries and try to do that. Trying to find exact fit :
- Hardly works out.
- Even if you think you found out someone, there is a very high probability you get paired with people who are good at pretence and were just trying to win you over.
I am not Kannadiga, but this holds true almost everywhere IMO.

My husband is a kannadiga he met me on a hike 😄

Tell me which one. I'll also try.
On a serious note, I have a friend who met her husband on a trek to Himalayas

Is your friend's name by any chance Bh*****a?

Join activities where there will be a good mix of people. Like cross fit - group fitness, any sports coaching class. Or fun activities like dance class, preferably ballroom.
