I think the comparison itself is wrong, no? You're comparing a city that has seen rapid growth in the last 20-25 years with cities that have been financial centres since decades (Chinese cities could be an aberration). But the fact still remains that if you're in India and want to make money with relative ease with minimal risk, Bangalore is still the best bet. It was Mumbai a few decades back.
So it's more of a bottom of the pyramid kinda place.
