
Band rejection is another scam
After rejecting my band, as there was no response by my supervisor I dropped him a mail to initiate separation and then he responded asking me to set up a call.
He could not tell me even a single reason for the C rating and 0.5% hike.
He said he recognizes my hard work and he gave me good rating but band was not in his control.
He also says C is not a bad rating and doesnt understand why C is often looked upon as a bad appraisal by people.
He said he will try from his end but said there is no assurance that anything may change. But to make up for it he is expecting me to come back to his unit and says next year appraisal I will make up for it.
I said there is no assurance from my side as well that I am going to continue till next year looking at the hike and current situation in Tcs. I said next year nobody knows what new policies may be introduced.
He said he will arrange me calls from his account and offer me team lead role and will make up for this appraisal next year.
He said he will try from his end for this year but giving no assurance that anything may change.
I pinged HR and said why HR are not part of such discussions as my manager says he will try from his end but is not initiating any process from his end.
HR says its associate responsibility to follow with supervisor. He had no answer when I told him that Manager may say to associate that they will try but do nothing later then it is only the associate who will be at loss.
So ultimately its upto the supervisor, he may give false hopes in the discussion and do nothing later.

I am also going through the same situation. Supervisor is asking to check with HR and HR is asking check with my Supervisor.

Even i have noticed this, whenever HR will not be sure of a solution HR will simply redirect to the manager supervisor etc

Very true and than supervisor will redirect back to hr, it looks all managers and hrs in tcs was very good in physics chapter oscillation motion or we can say in a game of to and fro

Yes, Band Rejection is just another scam in TCS, that disagreement option of the band in SPEED is of no use. Even i too got a C band , which i rejected and had a discussion with my Manager. They were telling reasons like RTO guidelines not met, though i went 3 days a week.
The sad part is there are other associates whose case is the same as me, going 3 days a week but they are given a better band than C.
Now after i rejected the band, my manager told me that she gave me better band 'B' but somehow upper level management gave that 'C' and told me that she is also fighting from her end to make it 'B'. But the revised compensation letter already released with literally 1.2% increment for C band.
Finally, the latest update from my manager was " Sorry, Band Corrections are not being done to anyone , even for those we got 'D' (whose salary decreased). The budget was closed for this year, so no change in bands".

Yes bro, I had worked on multiple tasks incidents and development in the project they have released me and given C Band. But when I raised band disagreement Team lead had put all negative points like not worked,not active in assigning tasks etc. but during release they mentioned like budget issues now they changed word in front of HR. Bro, my manager also told me same thing. I think they have been trained to handle the associates by HR & higher management before band distribution otherwise how come their sentences are exactly same. So Iβve decided I will not work for 1% hike and preparing myself for outside TCS. I think 3 months is enough to prepare and hold a good offer comparing in what situation currently I am.

My manager and reviewer called me after I rejected the band and mailed them. They said they had given me a B, but somehow, it was converted to a C by higher management. They also mentioned they gave me a 4.32 IPF, which is within their control.

C band with 4.32 ipf, thats strange

Everything decided at the time of rating that who will get what band because I fought for my team members who report to me. No one got C band but I could not save myself from the curse of my manager π€£ (as a result received C band)

TCS should eliminate the IPF score and goal settings, there is no use of such things. I am the highest scorer in my team but got B band. Al the band distribution decided by management, let them do that.

I don't think designation wise he can offer you anything good because the band simply won't allow for that. So basically lead responsibility at current salary for next year π
